Mindscaping What is Mindscaping?
Mindscaping is a guided process that helps you map and explore the metaphorical landscape of your unconscious mind. In this inner “mindscape,” symbols and images represent thoughts, feelings, patterns, and challenges. By exploring and adjusting that landscape, people often gain fresh insight, clear mental blocks, and experience meaningful personal shifts.
Why it works: the unconscious naturally speaks in metaphors and symbols. Mindscaping taps that language directly, allowing you to view problems from a new perspective and engage resources that ordinary talk can miss. It’s a facilitated process—you’re fully aware and in control while your guide keeps you focused and safe.
Benefits people report
-
Remove blocks & stuck patterns – shift how a problem is represented so new solutions appear.
-
Improve relationships – notice dynamics, identify patterns, and make healthy changes.
-
Process emotions & old hurts – explore deep material safely and support emotional release.
-
Create a better future – clarify goals, remove obstacles, and set a clear path forward.
Mindscaping was created by Dr. Mike Mandel. It’s simple to learn, powerful to experience, and integrates well with hypnosis and coaching.
What a session feels like
-
Arrive & define outcomes – brief conversation to focus the work.
-
Light, eyes-closed guided experience – you visualize and describe your inner landscape while I guide with precise, non-leading questions.
-
Mapping & adjustments – we locate obstacles, resources, and paths; changes are made inside the map.
-
Integration – we check how the change lands and outline next steps.
Most people describe sessions as relaxing, fascinating, and surprisingly practical.
Session length: typically ~60 minutes (allow a little extra for intake the first time).
Format: in-person or secure video.
You are always in control: you can pause, change direction, or open your eyes at any time.
What happens after a session?
-
Insight: You may leave with a new, empowering understanding of the issue—often enough to change behavior immediately.
-
Resolution (sometimes gradual): The unconscious continues processing; the problem can fade or feel easier to handle over the following days.
Is Mindscaping safe?
Yes. You remain fully conscious and in charge. This is not stage hypnosis or mind control. If anything feels off, we adjust the process immediately.
(Mindscaping is a coaching/educational process and not a medical or psychiatric treatment.)

Frequently asked questions: Will I lose control?
No. You’re aware the whole time and can open your eyes or stop at any point.
Do I need to be “good at visualizing”?
No. We use whatever shows up—images, feelings, words, or a simple sense of things. If you can pay attention and describe your experience, you can Mindscape.
How many sessions will I need?
Many clients notice meaningful change in one session. Some topics benefit from a short series.
Does it work online?
Yes. The process works well over video with a quiet space and headphones.
